The snow season is running far behind normal in the even perennially snowy lake effect snow regions. you can see the difference in the snow just by the color of the maps even around lake superior and Huron on their north shores there is a significant snow drought else where developing. Snows are critical at this time of year to recharge the ground water for agricultural usage in the growing season.
