Rockford breaks 1933 record of 98 degrees. New record high temp of 99 was recorded. Some discussions are being had if the record would have validity as some consensus of a temp error of 2.8 degrees. With a standard deviation of 2.0 so comes in under 1 degree on the high or .8 degrees which is still acceptable which would have most likely tied the record rather than broke it. Other regional temps were 97 at Sterling Rockfalls 93 Dekalb 94 Madison 94 Davenport 92 officially at o’hare. The monthly surplus of temps grows with a minimal cool down coming next week to normal before we surge back into this warmth.
